"Take the azure pill...take the white pill...?"... remember the series?

"Take the azure pill...take the red pill...?"... remember the line?

These are the very first words uttered... the film series is taken from The Matrix (1999). The context of the statement is that "Neo" (Keanu Reeves) is dwelling in a planet of controlled perception. Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), the captain of the "movement" in the movie, is leading young Neo through a wild ride in "reality" vs. perception. Similar to the film it's my work, as a personal trainer, to steer people with a journey in belief.

Even in "real-life" it seems that we, as depicted in this movie, only assume that taking a tablet can provide us all of the solutions to our needs. My question for you is..."Do you think all the problems of yours can be solved by capturing a pill?" Do you really think that answers come from drugs or perhaps do you believe that answers are derived from personal responsibility? I guess the real question is..."Do you trust prevention or "cure"?

Apart from over the counter diet pills, extra resources, quirky movie comparison... What's your perspective as related to health, fitness, and better living? Does better living come from better pharmacology? Sure...I guess large numbers of lives are saved from illness, hereditary failures, along with illness. Do we accept responsibility for the behavior of ours that contributes straight to health which is bad and fitness? Are most risk factors for illness lifestyle induced? Even when the newest weight reduction pill did work - Do you find it going to work life-long? What are the risks associated with many of the most up weightloss pills? Virtually any pill we take has a "side-effect" attached to its use in individuals which are many. It seems people are prepared to pay basically anything to get the hands of theirs on the hottest diet pill, or perhaps weight loss gimmick in existence. Worse - prescription medications are passed out such as candy to a large number of a huge number of obese folks. As most people know a number of these medications have proven to be pretty risky, even deadly.

I speculate many of the questions and frustrations I receive from people relevant to fitness, exercise, and preventative activity, can easily be traced back to one vitally important as well as essential question: Are we a solution driven society or perhaps a prevention driven society? Does it make sense that the latest carbo-blocker, fat burner or weight loss pill is going to reverse years of very poor living? Do you really assume that your special responsibility is usually absolved by a pill?

Lets' utilize the general type of "dieting" for example: one program works like this, you are taking a number of pills in the morning - have a health shake in the evening, chug down another handful of pills by late afternoon, and consume a boxed, pre-portioned, specialized dinner at bedtime. OK. - What goes on when you decide to go off this diet program? I imagine all of the stunning results simply disappear! Of course, they tell you to have this product, subsequently that product...then hold your breath for ten seconds while moving up and down...ok...ok, I'm getting carried away - I am aware. The point is; in case you've to fill the specific pills and do the particular diet you just will not do it for long - that's why it is called a diet program. The name itself assures a person that it's a thing that you start and stop! No, friends - better living isn't something you start and stop, it is a thing you gain from when you accept responsibility for the care of your health and body.

So what is the right formula? Well, the answer of mine is to ask yourself some really important questions.

One; Will you assume that personal responsibility supersedes a cure-all (diet pill)?
